[ DAY 2 ] DAVAO : Don Marcelino (Davao del Sur), its hidden charms and rugged adventure

We hired Kuya Lemuel's Pajero for a DonMar tour. It took us almost 4 hours (with few stopovers, as Serge's relatives are located in different areas of Davao). Today, we are spending a night at Captain's Lake, owned by Amor Johnson's family, Serge's aunt.

can't help but have a stopover to this view

On our way to DonMar, I have noticed that there were a lot of banana and papaya plantations just along the road side. This only shows how fertile the soil of Mindanao are and agriculture is really a great industry which is very suitable in the Philippines.

Captain's Lake, Don Marcelino, Davao del Sur

Nestled in the a coconut plantation, this is haven for those travelers and locals who wants to relax. There are cottages for rent ranges from P500.00 - P1500.00 depending on the size and number of beds. Cottages are situated facing the relaxing view of the natural lake. Guest can catch fish for lunch or dinner. In-house cook can prepare a dish out of your fresh catch. Along side are mini kubo with dining area, not to mention that they also have videoke machine in the middle of the lake. Prepare your 5-peso coin and pick a song!

Each fan room has double deck bed. With the fresh air from nearby forest and palm trees, who need an air-condition?!

Trek to Kaputian falls

After having lunch prepared by Tita Amor's staff, the habal-habal riders arrived to pick us up for a tour in
Kaputian Falls.

Visit in a pocket beach

After the waterfalls, we went to a pocket beach near Captain's lake. We passed by rough road and a small fishing village to get to a stack of stone near the sea to get to a white sand beach. It was a 30-minutes trek to stones big and small while the waves are splashing.

Videoke night at The Captain's Lake

We had a simple yet yummy dinner served by The Captain Lake's staff. It seems like a mini send-off party as we are going to be back in Davao city and Samal island the next day.

Checking out the route for tomorrow, we are going to Eden Nature Park
and Samal island
Our two-day adventure is not enough. This part of Davao will offer a lot of hidden treasures and that's for sure. Hopefully, we can re-visit this place and explore other parts of DonMar.
Light out now! More adventure tomorrow!
