[TRAVEL - DAY 3] PALAWAN: Discovering 'hidden' wonders of El Nido

Done with Tour A... We are doing Tour C today as our other tour-mates are leaving tonight to explore Puerto Princesa. We are staying another day to do Tour B here in El Nido.

Now, I am beginning to realize why foreigners for 1st world countries flock into this remote place in Palawan. :)

There was only one bakery in El Nido where foreigners go to for freshly baked breads and pastries.

TOUR B ( P 1,400/person - inclusive of lunch)

busy morning in El Nido beach near town proper

Tapuitan island - the attraction here is the beach residing behind the sharp limestone formations. One needs to swim towards the shallow area the carefully walk towards the beach. This area is also a great snorkeling spot.

Star Beach - lunch spot. Perfect snorkeling site and swimming area while waiting for lunch to get set up.

found Nemo!!! twins?!

Secret Beach - this is one challenging part of the tour. During high tide, the entrance to this beach is not visible. One needs to dive to get through the small opening under the limestone cliffs to see the beach. Luckily we arrived on a low tide hence its possible for has to go through the opening without having to dive into the water.

we made it to secret beach!!!

ji! snorkeling pa!

Matinloc shrine - as our guide told us, there is a "controversial" reason why the government reclaimed this site. Unsure of what it is because our guide refused to tell us. There is a 3-storey building/house which looks like used by a congregation based on the rooms named after saints and numerous religious items found. It has an underground area which I think is the kitchen area. Even though this fact sounds creepy, a short trek to the limestone view deck will leave you in awe.
